Major hotel brand IHG Hotels and Resorts has launched a new luxury and lifestyle brand and an Australian property will be one of the first to join the collection.

“Our new Vignette Collection gives IHG a compelling way to welcome world-class independent hotels into our brand family, combining each property’s distinctive identity with the power of our global scale,” said CEO of IHG Hotels & Resorts Keith Barr.

“As our first hotels in Australia and Thailand both showcase, each property is as unique as the next, and all will be endorsed by IHG’s trusted reputation for quality.”

Hotel X, a five-star 146-room hotel in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley is one of the first hotels in the new brand. The hotel opened in February, offering a flexible indoor and outdoor 190m2 event space for up to 100 attendees seated or up to 230 standing.

“We could not be more thrilled that Hotel X is one of the first hotels in the world to open under the Vignette Collection brand,” said Hotel X General Manager Daniel Moran.

“We think the brand is a perfect fit for our luxury hotel in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, with its distinctive design and premium facilities that celebrates this iconic Brisbane neighbourhood through ultra-cool art, Avant Garde lighting and exceptional views of the cityscape. We are already a proud member of the IHG family, and today it’s such an exciting step to add the Vignette Collection badge to the door.”

The new brand expects to collect 100 hotels around the world in the next decade.

Currently IHG operates almost 6,000 hotels across 17 brands in over 100 countries. There are over 100,000 rooms across more than 400 hotels within IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio, making it the second largest globally.
