ICC Sydney has launched a new trainee program to boost skills across a range of areas in the events industry workforce, including in AV, culinary and food and beverage service roles, digital media, event management and risk.
Participants in the Professional Growth Traineeship Program will have full time paid roles with the venue which will include time to study for their qualifications, which will be nationally recognised.
“ICC Sydney has earned a sound reputation for its award winning training and development programs,” said ICC Sydney CEO Geoff Donaghy.
“Launching our Professional Growth Traineeship Program, candidates will have the opportunity to learn in-demand skills on the job, whilst studying as they prepare for a career in the hospitality and events industry.”
ICC Sydney’s Director of Human Resources, Luke Fleming, said the new program gave those keen to join the events industry a unique opportunity to learn and work in a supportive environment.
“They will also benefit from courses run by the venue’s leadership team spanning personal branding, management, leadership, team building and corporate social responsibility, setting them up for success and the potential for ongoing employment,” said Fleming.
Following completion of their traineeships, ICC Sydney is hopeful it will be able to transition participants into the venue’s workforce, where roles are available.
