With Greater Sydney’s two-week COVID lockdown upending event plans set for July, ICC Sydney has been hard at work rescheduling a number of those which were set to be hosted by their venue this month and further ahead, with event situations continuing to change.
“We’re continuing our working relationship and dialogue with the health authorities and therefore remain open to run virtual events to our robust EventSafe operating guidelines,” said ICC Sydney CEO Geoff Donaghy.
“The team is working very hard with clients to rework or reschedule their events. For example, our audio visual team has rebuilt the Pathology Update, scheduled to kick off [today], into a fully virtual event in just a matter of days.
“The majority however are rescheduling. As you might imagine, the calendar is quite fluid at the moment, but the majority of events are falling into this calendar year.”
Rescheduled events include Integrate Expo which has moved to November, the Sydney Pregnancy, Babies and Children’s Expo, which has moved to September, the Sydney Property Expo which has moved to August and possibly the biggest show for the business events industry in 2021, Get Local, which as reported yesterday, has rescheduled to August 24-25.
