Sydney’s major convention centre is expanding its virtual event spaces to three, now named ICC Sydney Studios, to meet demand from clients during Sydney’s extended lockdown.
“We understand that for some the show must go on, even during these current health restrictions, which is why we have again flexed our services to meet the needs of our clients,” said ICC Sydney CEO Geoff Donaghy.
Even with the expansion, Donaghy says the majority of the venue’s clients still have a preference to meet in person when possible.
ICC Sydney’s Parkside Ballroom and Grand Ballroom will host the additional virtual studios.
The centre was quick to set up a virtual event studio at the beginning of the pandemic and has retained a permanent Media Studio even as there has been a greater return to live events.
ICC Sydney’s in-house AV team have delivered over 200 broadcast and hybrid events over the last 12 months.
Informa Australia has selected ICC Sydney to deliver the company’s events virtually where needed, with General Manager Keith Barks citing the “friendliness and expertise of the ICC Sydney staff” and acknowledging “the knowledge and experience of the tech crew is unsurpassed”.
