International business events trade show IBTM World, which is set to kick off tomorrow in Barcelona, has achieved the same average number of pre-scheduled appointments per hosted buyer and exhibitor as the last in-person iteration of the trade show, which was held pre-pandemic in 2019.
Buyers representing 72 countries have been confirmed to attend the show, with the majority of buyers coming from agencies (70 percent), a further 20 percent coming from corporates and the remaining 10 percent from associations.
To have achieved such strong results this year is testament to the hard work and tenacity of our brilliant team, as well as the strong desire of buyers and exhibitors to get back to doing business face-to-face,” said the exhibition’s director David Thompson.
“We’re very much looking forward to being on the show floor in Barcelona feeling the buzz of business meetings and networking taking place again.”
This latest news from the show also includes, for the first time, details about vaccination and testing requirements for entry into the event.
Participants will be required to show either proof of full vaccination completed at least two weeks prior to the show, or a rapid antigen or PCR test taken within 72 hours of the event or recovery from COVID-19 within the last 180 days.
As late as the end of September, the show was not requiring vaccination or testing to enter the event.
