Welcoming travellers in search of romance since 1924, Huka Lodge recently featured in an episode from the latest season of the hugely popular US reality series, The Bachelor.
The episode, which features Bachelor Juan Pablo and the final eight girls in the competition, is expected to air to millions of viewers through the major US network ABC, and reflects a successful collaboration between Tourism New Zealand, Huka Lodge and a range of local operators looking to jointly promote the region.
Set among 17 acres along the banks of the Waikato River, Huka Lodge has a global reputation for providing outstanding service to guests in its 25 luxurious suites.
This year the iconic property is celebrating its 90th anniversary and has a host of special events lined up throughout autumn and winter to mark the occasion.
Highlights include intimate dinners with authors Eleanor Catton and Alexander McCall Smith; an Italian Opera Weekend with Sydney’s iconic chef Stefano Manfredi, where Deborah Wai Kapohe will sing along with emerging talent from the New Zealand Opera School; and a Paspaley Pearl Discovery weekend where guests will dine on pearl meat prepared by Huka Lodge executive chef Paul Froggatt and experience the rare and wondrous world of pearls.
