Destination Gold Coast is welcoming 26 attendees to its annual three-day showcase this morning – including micenet – as it looks to bring more event business to the South East Queensland destination.

After cancellation of the event in 2020 due to the pandemic, Destination Gold Coast CEO Patricia O’Callaghan said this year’s event represented a significant step towards recovery for the local industry.

“We’re incredibly proud to showcase our city to this valued group of influential hosts to see first-hand how incredibly well the Gold Coast delivers on staging successful business events,” said O’Callaghan.

“Our resilient and resourceful business events industry partners have joined us in developing an inspired and innovative program designed to leave our delegates with the ideas and connections to create an unforgettable conference on the Gold Coast.”

The event kicks off today with a showcase lunch at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and runs until Thursday. Destination Gold Coasts estimates there is up to $14 million worth of business up for grabs from attendees representing the corporate and association event sectors.
