One of China’s largest personal health care companies, Infinitus has chosen the Gold Coast for its week-long incentive program, expected to generate more than $50 million in delegate expenditure.
Gold Coast Business Events beat national and international competition for what will be one of the biggest business events ever to be staged in Australia.
The Gold Coast will host approximately 8000 top performers from Infinitus China in May 2018.
Gold Coast Business Events director Anna Case said securing the Infinitus China program was a fantastic achievement for the destination.
“To win this prestigious event, we had to demonstrate that our city has all the elements essential to delivering an extraordinary program that will leave Infinitus delegates inspired,” she said.
“We’ve proven that we’re a serious contender as the destination of choice for large scale international business events, with an exceptional offering for delivering distinctive and memorable programs.
“The Gold Coast has a winning mix of business events infrastructure, experiences and service. When you add to this our pristine beaches, spectacular hinterland and climate, it really is an unbeatable combination.”
Queensland Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Kate Jones, said securing this event offered a great opportunity to showcase the Gold Coast and the state as a premier tourism and events destination.
“The Infinitus China program will bring thousands of Chinese business delegates to Queensland and showcase our diverse tourism experiences to the growing China market,” Ms Jones said.
“This is a great example of collaboration between Tourism and Events Queensland, Tourism Australia and Gold Coast Tourism to secure a major business event for the State and grow our tourism industry.”
A spokesperson for Infinitus said company representatives were looking forward to working closely with Gold Coast Tourism and Tourism Australia to create a memorable experience for delegates.
“We are truly amazed at the endless choices we have to help us put together a one-of-a-kind business travel incentive holiday for our delegates. Already, we are very impressed by the attentiveness of Tourism Australia and Gold Coast Tourism,” said Infinitus (China) Company Ltd general manager, Jacky Hu.
