Expressing a “fierce determination” to run a face-to-face event, the much anticipated Get Local Expo has been rescheduled again as the lockdown of Australia’s two largest cities continue.

The event which was originally slated for next week, before being moved to late August will now take place on October 18 and 19.

The decision was taken after discussions with a range of stakeholders including partners and government health experts.

“Given the most recent lockdowns in Greater Sydney and Melbourne, Get Local is now more important than ever for the business events community to reconnect with one another and at an appropriate time to do so,” said Get Local founders Donna Kessler and Gary Bender.

“We are a resilient industry and we thank everybody for their ongoing support in such unprecedented times.”

The new dates reflect an expectation that outbreaks across Sydney and Melbourne – and now, presumably, Adelaide – will be contained by October and state borders will be open again.
