The popularity of COVID-inspired local show Get Local, from the founders of the award-winning Get Global, has continued to grow, with organisers announcing an increased floor space footprint at host venue ICC Sydney for the July business events trade show.
Get Local has added the Parkside Ballroom to its event space, which provides more than 1,200m2 of additional space on top of its original occupancy in The Gallery. The Ballroom will host the show’s education program.
“The support we have received from the industry has been truly outstanding,” said Get Local co-founder Gary Bender.
“Donna [Kessler, Bender’s co-founder] and I are pleased to say we have sold out of the NSW, QLD and National Zone exhibition areas, but we still have some availability in other zones.
“We never expected we would need to expand the show footprint at this stage.”
Get Local’s education program also includes some big names and pertinent topics for the current global climate.
The presenter range covers the full gamut of conferences, incentives and association issues with presentations from Arinex, the local chapter of the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) and a panel headed up by the Association Specialists.

Tourism Australia’s Managing Director Phillipa Harrison will open the speaking program and the Deputy Chairman of Rex Airlines, John Sharp AM, is also on the schedule.
The ABC’s Dr Norman Swan, who has risen to prominence as a key figure in the national broadcaster’s COVID-19 coverage, is part of the Saxton Showcase of speakers.
The show will be held on July 29 and 30, 2021 at ICC Sydney.
