Global business events industry association PCMA has announced its Asia Pacific advisory board for 2022, with two new Australian faces in the mix.

Head of events for Australia for Harcourts International Teagan Seccombe and CEO and founder of Mayvin Global Deanna Varga have both been appointed to the APAC regional advisory board for a two-year term, while industry strategy consultant – and former head of Melbourne Convention Bureau – Karen Bolinger has had her advisory role renewed for another two years and head of events at the Australian Psychological Society Paula Rowntree will continue to be a liaison between the advisory board and PCMA’s global board of directors, of which she is a member.

The advisory board “act as regional-local ambassadors to amplify the voice and presence of PCMA within the APAC region”, according to the association.

PCMA also announced it will be delivering its Convening APAC event as a virtual experience across the region between July and September and via two in-person experiences – one in Australia in August and the other in Singapore in September.

“The business events industry is poised for recovery in the region with varying phases of re-opening. There is a pressing need for the community to collaborate more to navigate the continued uncertainties ahead and, overcome the talent crunch faced in all markets,” said PCMA’s APAC managing director Florence Chua.

“Continuing education needs to be balanced with the workload of increased business to ensure our talents are recharged and up to speed with latest developments.”

The event will be delivered live virtually and in-person with content also available on demand. Registrations for the event are expected to open in late May.
