The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) is maintaining its tradition of marking International Women’s Day (IWD) with a special event putting the spotlight on women in the business events sector and in the greater community.
This year, the EEAA event is free and will be broadcast live from the Chippendale studios of Connected Event Group. The aim is to give more people across Australia the opportunity to be part of the special United Nations designated day and recognise that it’s been tough financially for people in the industry.
EEAA chief executive Claudia Sagripianti said the IWD event will bring together a panel of experienced businesswomen who shine in their work and their approach to their careers.
“We are delighted to have secured Simone Allan, a standout keynote speaker along with a panel of leaders from various sectors of the business events industry,” she said.
Under the #ChoosetoChallenge theme, speakers will discuss practical solutions for women to take leadership positions and for organisations to create a culture that fosters equal opportunity, which is particularly important as the business events industry is predominantly female.
The keynote will be delivered by Simone Allan, social entrepreneur, businesswoman and advocate for women. The panel comprises international speaker, Stephanie Selesnick, International Trade Information; Marie Kinsella, International Exhibitions and Conference Group; Peggy Reevell, Australian Council for Education Leaders. The virtual event is hosted by Major Event Partner, the Connected Event Group.
