Managing Director of George P Johnson for Australia and New Zealand Caleb Bush is departing the local arm of the international experience agency, having been appointed as Executive Vice President for GPJ in Europe.
“It’s been a wild ride these past 11 years at GPJ in A/NZ,” said Bush of his forthcoming departure.
“I have had the pleasure of driving major changes to the agency, winning multiple AOY Awards and being personally recognised by CEO Magazine as Managing Director of the Year in 2019. The people I have worked for, with and in particular the clients who have bought into our ‘experience first’ mindset have been the biggest highlights. I leave the business in a very strong position but still see so much growth for both our clients and staff. It’s not goodbye just yet as we look to handover to a new MD in November.”
Working remotely for now and moving to London in 2022, in his new role Bush will oversee GPJ’s offices in London, Stuttgart, Oslow, Paris and Brussels.
Meanwhile on the Gold Coast, Michael Foster has been appointed the General Manager of Dorsett Gold Coast, set to open as part of The Star complex later this year.
Foster has 15 years of experience in hotel management and business development and most recently oversaw the opening of the Holiday Inn Express Brisbane as General Manager.
“I am excited to be bringing a great global brand to Australia,” said Foster.
“The Gold Coast has been without much new stock in recent years and Dorsett Gold Coast will certainly make an excellent addition to the city’s skyline; the Dorsett brand centres around a sense of community and vibrancy, and we aim to deliver a memorable, local experience to all of our guests.”
Also on the Gold Coast, the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort has appointed Nathan Gadd as its new Director of Sales and Marketing.
Gadd is returning to the Gold Coast property after six years in the same position at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas. Altogether, including a number of roles with the Sheraton brand, Gadd has more than 25 years’ experience in the tourism and hospitality industries.
“We are very excited to have Nathan return to the Gold Coast, he has a wealth of knowledge for our market and I am very confident in Nathan’s ability to lead the COVID-19 business recovery strategy,” said General Manager of Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast, Keith Massey.
