This upcoming service will offer four flights per week – Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Danang will be working with the airline to welcome fam and press trips from Japan, while launching tourism promotion programmes promoting a variety of services to attract the Japanese market.
“We also have plans to organise a roadshow in Japan to promote the tourism sector in Danang,” said Nguyen Xuan Binh, director of Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre.
In line with the city’s objectives, Furama Resort Danang has recruited a Japanese relations offer, included Japanese options in its F&B, and translated its websites and selected promotional materials into Japanese.
These plans were made on the back of a growing number of Japanese arrivals to Danang, with Huynh Tan Vinh, chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association and general director of Furama Resort Danang adding that the number of tourists from Japan in 2013 increased 53 percent year-on-year to 41,000, making it the third largest tourism market for the city.
Danang is commonly known as the gateway to three UNESCO Heritage sites in the central region – My Son sanctuary, the ancient imperial capital of Hue, and Hoi An ancient town.
