Singapore – The Singapore EXPO Convention and Exhibition Centre and its convention wing MAX Atria has forecast a 10-per-cent growth in the number of events and total visitors this year, fuelled by an events calendar already lined with trade exhibitions, conferences, and two of the largest corporate meetings ever to be held in Singapore.
Corporate meetings to be hosted include Herbalife Extravaganza Asia-Pacific in May and Nu Skin Southeast Asia Regional Convention in July, which will welcome more than 30,000 delegates combined. Tradeshows include International Furniture Fair Singapore, the longest-running event SingEx has hosted since 1999; and the largest edition of Food & Hotel Asia.
SingEx is also hosting more conferences from the IT, medical and aviation sectors, including the inaugural edition of Internet of Things Asia 2014 in April; Singapore Health & Biomedical Congress in September; and the return of MRO Asia Conference & Exhibition in November, to be held at MAX Atria.
SingEx saw more than 800 events attended by 7.5 million visitors in 2013, a 13-per-cent increase in the total number of events held and a 25-per-cent surge in footfalls compared to 2012.
