While we’ve heard of many event cancellations and postponements, due to the current surge of Omicron COVID-19 cases, the Australian Gift and Homewares Association (AGHA) has confirmed it will be going ahead with the AGHA Sydney Gift Fair at Sydney Showground in mid-February.
“Continually cancelling business-to-business events would lead to a huge shift and downturn in the way people market their businesses, make sales and communicate with clients and suppliers,” said AGHA’s CEO, Wayne Castle.
“As the leading industry Association in the gift and homewares sector, it is incumbent on AGHA to help the industry thrive in a new norm.”
The event was cancelled in 2021 due to COVID-19 outbreaks in Sydney over Christmas 2020.
COVID-19 safety measures will be in place for the event, including more open spaces and wider aisles.
“Having been by AGHA’s side for over twenty years, the Sydney Showground team are delighted to welcome back the AGHA Sydney Gift Fair this February and work with the team to deliver a COVID-safe event which supports not only the gift and homewares sector but also exhibitions and trade events,” said Sydney Showground General Manager, Darryl Jeffrey.
“As we all continue to navigate events in a changing world, Sydney Showground will adapt with our clients, providing the extra support and collaboration needed between venue and organiser to help deliver exciting and safe events in 2022 and beyond.”
