Accor seeking future hoteliers

ASIA PACIFIC Accor Asia Pacific is inviting hospitality students in the region to take part in a contest that focuses on a real Accor case study in the reinvention of Novotel Hotels, as part of an initiative to identify hoteliers and allow students to showcase their skills to senior executives in the hotel chain.

The “Take Off! The Accor Student Challenge” will be looking for creativity and boldness in the concepts students come up with for the next generation of Novotel hotels to match guest expectations for the year 2020.

Organised in three rounds, the competition includes the use of photography and video editing skills and the ability to convince both in writing and orally to obtain the highest opinion scores on the online voting site. The final decision will then be made in front of a jury comprising Accor Asia Pacific senior regional executives.

The winning team will score a five-day trip including travel, accommodation and excursions to one of the group’s hotels in Seoul, Hong Kong, Bali, Phuket or Bangkok.

Accor Asia Pacific SVP of human resources, Patrick Ollivier said, “We needed to widen our recruitment pool and have a stronger e-recruitment strategy and this competition is a great way to provide students with exposure to Accor while helping us identify talent in the industry.”

Accor Asia Pacific SVP sales and marketing, Graham Wilson added, “Today’s students are our customers of tomorrow and I look forward to reviewing their innovative and surprising propositions. These types of projects are so important as they assist us to ensure we can anticipate our guests expectations and continue to re-engineer our brands for the future.”

Run annually by Accor, the contest this year is particularly focused on the Asia Pacific region. For more information, visit
